Beckham has turned her attentions to her fashion label

Victoria Beckham is to appear as a guest presenter on popular US daytime show The View.

The former Spice Girl will join actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd and broadcaster Barbara Walters on 17 February.

Beckham, 35, appeared as a guest on the live show in September.

The singer-turned fashion designer’s recent guest slot on the judging panel of American Idol was largely panned by US television critics.

A spokesman for Beckham said she was excited about hosting the show next month.

"She had a lot of fun last time she was on the show, it’s a real ‘girlie’ environment, the hosts are all strong, intelligent women who she respects and admires, and she is looking forward to returning to the show in a few weeks," he said.

On The View website, Beckham is described as "a fashion icon, a former Spice Girl… she’s all-around fabulous".

Courtney Cox wore a dress designed by Beckham at the Golden Globe awards earlier this month.
