Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio will join stars on the red carpet later at the London premiere of Body of Lies.

The 33-year-old will be joined by Sir Ridley Scott, director of the thriller about a US intelligence agent on the hunt for a terrorist leader.

Both actor and director were in Rome on Tuesday for their film’s Italian debut.

Russell Crowe, who plays DiCaprio’s CIA handler, is not expected to attend the event, to be held at the Vue cinema in London’s Leicester Square.

DiCaprio last worked with Crowe on the 1995 Western The Quick and the Dead, which also starred Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman.

‘Proud’

Body of Lies marks Crowe’s fourth movie with Sir Ridley after Gladiator, A Good Year and American Gangster.

Speaking in Rome on Wednesday, DiCaprio said he had stayed up all night to watch Barack Obama be named the President elect.

“I think the entire world was looking for a transition like this,” he told reporters. “I couldn’t be more proud of my country right now.”

Body of Lies opened in October in the US and will be released in the UK on 21 November.
